Phase 0 · Frame: what are they asking for?
Produce a scope note: the modules they need, the first one, the order, how involved they want to
be. No code, no cloud resources. Back: dodil://erp/build.
Steps
- Look for an existing system before asking. In their repo, read every
ERP_*.md(Status, People, Change requests, Decisions). In the org:dodil ignite app list, thendodil ignite app get <app>forlabels.group,user_poolandenv.BUCKET. If a system exists, reuse its pool, bucket, master data and repo. - Listen for capabilities, not labels. Map the nouns and verbs of their business to modules with
customer_wordsinindex.json. Speak their word back ("your app"); never make them learn "ERP". - Ask two calibration questions and record both under People:
- "What do you use for this today?"
- "Should I make the technical calls and explain as I go, or would you like to weigh in?"
- Show the landscape: the business areas, with what we cover lit up (APQC categories; the rendered landscape is not built yet: list it in words). Let them point at what hurts.
- Recommend a sequence: the first module (
first_module_fit), then the roadmap. If anything on the roadmap touches money, the first module references a shared business partner. - Write the scope note back to them in one message, then create
ERP_<MODULE>.mdfrommodules/template.mdwith Status, People and Frame filled.
Example (the message you send)
What I heard: you hire freelancers and staff, and starting and leaving is done by email.
That maps to: People (starters and leavers) first, then Contracts.
In scope: APQC 10469 Onboard employees, 21710 Manage employee separation.
Next: I'll show you the standard onboarding process and you tell me where yours differs.
You said: you'd like me to decide the technical calls and explain them. Is that right?
Done when
- The scope note was sent and they confirmed it.
-
ERP_<MODULE>.mdexists with Status (Phase 0), People and Frame. - The PCF ids in scope are recorded in Frame.
